- PAOLA BRANCATO
Graduated in double bass and specialized in Didactics of music at Conservatorio "Cantelli" di Novara e l’Università Cattolica di Milano, Paola Brancato combine concerto activity with lutherie, mainly by the making of Medieval and Renaissance stringed instruments.
Passionate popularizer through conferences, articles and essays (she’s the author of the first Italian method dedicated to psaltery), Paola collaborated with Marco Pasquino to his volume “Manual of pacific coexistence with your harp”.
Often, referring to its aesthetic and sound qualities, we use to say: “that musical instrument is an artwork”. What, instead, if an artwork would be a musical instrument?
This is exactly what Federico Rivetti does. He’s not a luthier, but an artist and a ceramist who works taking inspiration from music. His artworks have been exhibited in Italy and abroad and some of the sounds of his musical sculptures have been used by the composer Giovanni Lodigiani.website: ceramicaearte.altervista.org

Should I bring my harp? Do you provide any harp for the students? What is the cost?Naturally the Festival provides harps for the beginners, and they are for free. It is better for those who already play harp to bring theirs, but if you wouldn’t or couldn’t no problem: BardonecchiArp will provide a few harps to the students. The cost is € 20 each, for the whole course.
Can I attend not the whole course but just for a few days?Yes. Sure it’s better to attend the course for all the five days of the Festival (also because it’s much more fun!), but if you can’t, no problem: we will set personalized periods and costs for you.
Are there any discounts for family and companions?Yes. There are big benefits for family or companions not attending the course: they can enjoy the Hotel discounts for accommodation and hospitality, as well as all the other BardonecchiArp conventions. See INFO page.
Should I pay the Hotel directly to you?Yes. If you choose the pack with hospitality included the whole rate (course+accommodation) should be payed to us. We will manage everything: book and pay the Hotel as well as communicate any of your special need.
Are the night concerts with paying entrance? No. All the concerts are open to the public and free! The same is for the exhibitions, the conferences, etc. Nevertheless, due to the big audience flow in the past editions, many people had to wait in line or couldn’t get in: thus, this year will be possible to book your seat in the first rows, by asking to the Festival Info Point.
